"With a Lily in Your Hand" Kinetic Type
This video is my first attempt at kinetic typography, and additionally, my first time using After Effects software. Choral music is seldom used for kinetic type, hence I wanted to grab the opportunity, particularly when I am involved in several choir communities. "With A Lily In Your Hand" is a piece by Eric Whitacre, translated from a poem by Federico Garcia Lorca, and is performed by Polyphony. I selected this particular song because it maintains a strong energy, yet is dynamic enough for experimentation. You can imagine how animated the singers are! I hoped to capture the passion of the words and express not only their meaning, but the way the singers perform them as well.
